This is a Newborn session I did with one of my favorite clients.  This is her precocious bundle of Joy.

What was so cool was she slept through the entire shoot.  There were some thing I had to do to ensure she slept.  1st was no A/C.  So it was hot in the studio.  Second I used a blow drier to heat up everything she laid on so she would be comfortable.

I think we got some really good shots.

Data;
Camera: Nikon D700
Lens: 24mm-70mm f/2.8

This session I call the Tattooed Woman.  This young lady wanted me to photography one of her tattoos and I thought lets shoot them all.

So this is the result of what we got.  She was fun to work with and a good sport.

I really like working with the smoke I have learned how to get it to lay and move across the floor.  So we got some really cool shots.

Enjoy!!

Lighting Storm Nassau Bahamas

I decided one night that I would got take some photos of the lighting storm.  So I went out to a location behind Fish Fry in Nassau, Bahamas.  I wanted to give my hand a go at long exposures to see what and if i could capture some great shots.

The location I was at put me in an area where I was by myself with no one around.  There was an occasional security officer roving around on a golf cart.  So I set up my gear and started shooting.  I started with 30 second exposures.  I do love the results of the shots.

So while I was doing my thing, this van approaches very slow and I started to freak, so I moved by my truck and acted like I was pulling out a shotgun to maybe scare the people away.  The van parked about 200-300 feet away and 2 men got out and was walking around the van.  I keep my eye on them so if the moved closer I could throw my camera in my truck and leave. Well the never approached and stayed for about 15-20 mins.

After 5-10 minutes after the guys in the van left a boat pulled up moving really slow and close to the wall.  Ok so I really freaked.  I made sure to keep my truck between the guy in the boat and me, just incase he wanted to shoot at me or something.  Well he went closer to land and then disappeared.  I thought OK, time to go.  So I packed up my gear and started to leave, and lo and behold the van showed back up and I saw the boat again.  When I saw that I got out of there really quick and stopped by fish fry to blend in with the crowd just in case the were following me.

That scared the S@#t out of me.

But anyway enjoy the photos, I shot on ISO 200 F/8 bulb 30 seconds.  Nikon D700 on a tripod.

Firework at Atlantis July 4, 2012

Atlantis Resorts Nassau,Bahamas July 4th, 2012 fireworks display.

I shot these photos with some fellow photographers from across the harbour in Nassau.  The chalange with the photos was finding the right settings in a very short period of time.

Because of high cost of things in The Bahamas the display does not last long so, the learning curve is very short.  I think I did ok so you be the judge.

3 location Engagement Session

This is an engagement session I did recent.  My we had so much fun.  Found some new spots to shoot at.  I had Amyika from Elegant Touch Photography assisting with this shot.

Also I used my new camera body Nikon D700.  All I can say is WOW.  I so love this camera, it is so much better than the D300 I use to shoot with and the D80 that I started out with. Its a big price difference also. lol

Anyway hope you all enjoy and I am so looking forward to this couples wedding, they are a fun couple and look like they are truly in love with each other.

Maternity shot in a Bahamian home

I have been in many homes to do family photos and have seen many different decor, but this house was like straight out of a magazine, it was beautiful!  So taking photos at this expecting mom's home was a joy.

First was this well thought out beautifully decorated living room with this back light picture window.  I tried to capture this mom's  shape of her little bundle of joy.  The good thing is this mom likes to pose so it was not a huge challenge to shoot these photos.

We then moved to the bathroom that had this corner shelf that was decorated nicely and shot a few frames there to show the mom's curves.

We switched to a room that was well light and had a lot of natural light coming through the 2 large windows in this room.  I wanted to capture the warmth in this room and show how relaxing it was.

Then last but not least, the master bedroom.  WOW this room had sexy written all over it. So, I wanted to show that this pregnant mom is still sexy and show her curves in this beautiful room.  This room also had a huge window that I used the natural light that came through to show her shape.

All photos shot with a Nikon D300s, 24mm-70mm f2.8, ISO 800.  On some I used a Nikon SB800 Speedlight with a 36" umbrella for fill.  The main light was always the natural light from the large windows in the rooms.

I wish her and her unborn child the best of luck and may she have a healthy and safe delivery.

Thanks
